Wedding in Tamarindo, Costa Rica: Thomas and Marnie

I was honored to photograph the wedding of Thomas and Marnie at the Diria Beach Resort in Tamarindo, Costa Rica. A special congrats and pura vida to these two. Thomas and Marnie flew in from Ft. Lauderdale, Florida with family and friends for their special day here in Tamarindo, Costa Rica. Thomas and Marnie are a super lively and fun couple and it really was a blast meeting them, hanging out, and capturing these special moments. Also I would like to thank Victoria Moreno, the owner of Famous Points Bridal Services, for helping to coordinate the session at the last minute.  Please enjoy the photos.

Tamarindo, Costa Rica: Mi Ola Surf Bikinis Photo Shoot

What could possibly be better than shooting girls in Mi Ola Surf Bikinis? Well... hmm... only one things comes to mind that could make it better. The girls are also great surfers and the photo shoot is in the water and the bikini designs are the icing on the cake.

We started by leaving Tamarindo at 6am and traveling to the Playa Avellanas area for water shots of the models surfing. The waves were smaller than we had hoped for and not in perfect form but we decided it was worth a shot. The girls were looking awesome in their Mi Ola Bikinis and they were shredding anything possible for the shots. Despite the wave quality the girls were scoring some fun waves and I  scored a few shots. A special thank you and pura vida to Helena and the Mi Ola crew for the oppurtunity to work together.

p.s. Mi Ola was founded by Helena Fogarty and they build surf tested bikinis to be sexy and secure in the surf. For more information about Mi Ola surf bikinis and how to cover your assets, visit their site at or their facebook page at The photos alone are worth the click. Pura Vida!

Performance Event in Las Catalinas, Costa Rica: Featuring Soledad on Aerial Silk Acrobatics

had the honor of working with one of our local favorite artists the very talented Soledad de la Riva. Soledad is a well known painting artist and performing artist from Argentina and she lives part of the year in the Guanacaste province of Costa Rica. When she's not performing or teaching aerial fitness she's painting the most amazing murals on the walls of our local businesses and homes. The Border Run to Nicaragua

Living in Costa Rica as an American expat comes with a few complications like the fact that we're technically just perpetual tourists in the eyes of immigration. However, in the tradition of the pura vida lifestyle, we learn to take these complications and turn them into opportunities.  In this case the immigration limit of 90 days in Costa Rica becomes an opportunity for a weekend adventure across one of Costa Rica's land borders. This weekend's opportunity took me to the Nicaraguan border where for the first time I attempted to drive my Costa Rican tagged car into Nicaragua. This lead to more complications that become yet another opportunity to solve travel problems on the fly and keep the shutter clicking. I had to leave the car at the border but I did make it to Granada and enjoyed the historical architecture, food, culture, and interesting street characters. Here's some shots from the trip. Enjoy!

Pet Photography for Your Greeting Card

With Valentine's Day approaching I decided to use my little Tica (my 3 month old lab puppy) as the model of my card to send to friends and family. Shutterfly is a good service to use when you need cards sent for you. Simply upload your favorite high resolution photo files to their website and use simple online tools to quickly insert photos into their card templates then add or import your contact list and they'll print the cards and send one to each selected contact.

What makes a great card though are great photographs. Please inquire if you need some help with that. Here's the card I did today. Enjoy and have a happy Valentine's Day.

Project Wok & Roll

I recently had the honor of shooting for Wok and Roll in Tamarindo, Costa Rica. Wow what an awesome place to dine! If you're visiting Tamarindo and you're a lover of fine Sushi, Korean, and Thai then don't pass this place up. They have a new building right next to Sharkey's in downtown Tamarindo. I'd like to say a very special congratulations to the owners Kandice and Romain for  creating an awesome atmosphere. It's was truly a pleasure to handle the shoot and especially eating the wonderful creations that we shot there. Here's a few of the dishes for your visual enjoyment but I'd recommend a visit for a real taste. Pura Vida!
